water pump
There is nothing about these parts that would make them difficult to machine. However, no matter how simple a part is there is always a way to scrap it. This is why we strive to manufacture all parts with the same attention to detail as we would our most difficult part.
COVER
In order for a pump to deliver its rated flow you have to make sure that every part in the assembly lines up the way it was designed. The consistent maintaining of linears is imperative to the optimal operation of the pump. The covers are inspected to hold dimensions from the casting to the face and close linears so that there are no surprises in final assembly.
mount
The mount is a part that we use our 4 axis lathe to manufacture. This way we can face, turn, drill & bore and also drill our mounting holes in one machining operation. This makes for a very consistent and economical part.
SHAFT
The shaft is another important component. The shaft has some closely held linears also. If these dimensions are not held then the placement of the impeller in the cover will negatively affect the delivery of the pump. The bearing journals are ground with our centerless grinders to assure consistent match for the bearings.
IMPELLER
The impeller is obviously the heart of the pump. It is necessary that the impeller be as closely centered under the exit groove of the cover to make the pump deliver. If manufacturing is done without a view towards assembly individual tolerances that are acceptable when stacked up will rob the assembly of it's desired goal. The impeller, as will all the other parts described here, is made with that view.
